The Barton Reading & Spelling System
This instructional system is based on the Orton-Gillingham model, which is a research-backed approach for teaching students with dyslexia. It is a logical, systematic, and explicit phonics approach, taking students all the way from early sound awareness through the many details of English syllable division.
This instruction includes a multi-sensory approach, which basically means students touch and see the words while they also speak and hear them, activating more regions of the brain to improve learning.
